︎︎︎installation, sound, moving sculpture

2016

The installation project consists of six moving sculptures that display images from Vsevolod Meyerhold's "Arming the Imagination." This study features a series of positions intended to enhance performance and arousal. The sculptures are accompanied by the sound of an actress giving an English pronunciation lesson. The actress recites a passage from Queen Elizabeth I's speech to her troops before the battle against the Spanish Armada in 1588 (an original recording by Daniella Kertesz, New York). The project explores the relationship between the moving sculptures and the recording, drawing parallels with the historical event. The sculptures, derived from entertainment performances, provide a new perspective on historical traditions through depictions of speech and national consciousness associated with war and power dynamics.
